Rutland Regional Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is licensed by the State of Vermont. The hospital is a not-for-profit institution with membership in the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, the American Hospital Association, the Association of Community Cancer Centers and the Voluntary Hospitals of America-New England.
Rutland Regional has also been granted the distinction of being a Rural Referral Center by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) because of the severity of cases treated and the specialized physicians available to treat those cases. Rural Referral Centers must meet stringent quality, volume and medical staff specialty requirements.
