On May 26, 2015, the third floor of Rutland Regional Medical Center will become the home to a variety of specialty clinics all in one convenient location.
Rutland Pulmonary Center and Pulmonology Services, Electroencephalogram (EEG), and Electromyography (EMG) Testing will move to the newly renovated space on the third floor, called 3 North, joining the Comprehensive Care/Infectious Diseases Clinic and Rutland Kidney Center.
The renovated space will feature coordinated patient check-in and check-out, along with wait space to accommodate patient comfort and privacy. Patient rooms will be remodeled for improved efficiency of care that includes space large enough for patient education. Physicians will have private work areas where they can complete medication orders, patient documentation and consult with other staff.
This emerging model of care locates physicians and other healthcare providers into a collaborative clinical setting, utilizing a universal exam room model where multiple specialty providers will treat the patient in the same exam room and meet with families.
“From the initial planning meetings, we agreed one concept would shape everything: what was best for the patient,” said Leah Denton, Director of Clinical Services at Rutland Regional Medical Center. “Having these specialty clinics in one convenient location will provide our patients with the high-quality care they expect from Rutland Regional, but in a comfortable, well-designed space.”
Throughout 2015, Rutland Regional Medical Center will be re-building, re-purposing and modernizing facilities with every aspect of upcoming projects thoughtfully planned to enhance the patient experience. This patient-centered approach to design will create a more aesthetically pleasing, healing environment with natural light and windows, and better use of space to improve patient care flow.
