Benefits

  • Choice of HMO or PPO Health Insurance Plans. Eligible the first of the month after 30 days of service.
  • Choice of Comprehensive or Preventive Dental Plan. You may cover yourself, yourself and one dependent, or yourself and two or more dependents.
  • Vision Plan. You may cover yourself, yourself and one dependent, or yourself and two or more dependents. Covers routine eye examination and materials.
  • Short and Long Term Disability. Illness up to 180 days – paid at 100% through paycheck. Illness over 180 days paid at 60% through disability carrier under the Long Term Disability Benefit. Will be offset by benefits from any other income.
  • Life Insurance. Employer provides one times annual base salary. Employee may choose to buy up to a maximum of 6x pay up to one million dollars.
  • 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan. Employees may participate in the 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan which offers a variety of investment options through Fidelity Investments.
  • Retirement Plan. RRHS will contribute to the Plan, on your behalf, a non-elective Employer Contribution equal to a specified percentage of the employee’s gross pay each pay period to a tax-sheltered annuity 403(b) plan for all employees having an assigned FTE. The Contribution percentage is based upon age and completed years of service as follows:

  • Differentials. Shift differentials for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

CME

CME Mission Statement

Rutland Regional Medical Center and its physicians recognize that maintaining the medical knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients is a ongoing process. Educational needs can be expected to change in response to emerging technology, scientific discovery, and new standards of practice. Our objective is to maintain a program of continuing medical education that helps support our physicians and healthcare providers in their response to those advances.

Rutland Regional Medical Center is accredited by The University of Vermont which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AMA Category I credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with one hour of participation earning one credit. Every effort is made to ensure that specialty society accreditation is also obtained for appropriate programs, so that physicians attending these courses may earn the credit most useful to them in fulfilling their continuing medical education requirements.

Emergency Physician — Hospital Employed

Full-time employed position. 19 room state-of-the-art department.

1593 scheduled work hours annually for full-time position. Paid vacation annually, 5% of worked time, increases to 8% with 5 years of service.

ABEM Board Certified Emergency Physician with at least two years clinical experience preferred. Board-eligible physicians will certainly be considered, but must be within 5 years of completion of residency with plans to become boarded.

Generous Malpractice, Health, Dental, and Disability benefits/ insurance, 403b with hospital match, Defined Contribution retirement account, college savings accounts, and tax-deferred earnings program.

9- hour shifts; Full-time physician covers 15 shifts per month. 45 hours of MD coverage per day.

12-16 hours of physician extender coverage in an attached Fast Track setting.

Annual volume: 36,000. 

Tertiary care center support by either Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center or The University of Vermont Medical Center with ground or helicopter transport available. Digital X-Ray (GE) and department ultrasound (Sonosite). 24 hour radiology and lab services available. The hospital is licensed for 123 beds. Service area 85,000. $4000 annual CME allowance. Cerner EMR. Scribes are used for all physicians and we are using a model of immediate bedding.

Endocrinologist — Hospital Employed

We are looking for a full-time Endocrinologist to join our team of 3. We are the second largest hospital in the state and licensed for 123 beds. This is a busy, well established practice with a team that consists of Advanced Practice Providers and Dietitians.

Must be board-certified or board-eligible. Eligibility is within five years of completion of training.

FP or IM MD  — Outpatient Only — FQHC

We are looking for a Family Practitioner or Internist to join an FQHC group in our community - Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region (CHCRR). Rutland Regional is assisting CHCRR with this search as they are a vital part of our community.

Must be board-certified or board-eligible. Residency trained.

5 days per week, shifts, with some weekend rounding.

Admissions will be referred to the Hospital Medicine program.

  • 403B retirement plan, malpractice provided, food benefit package, paid vacation 4 weeks and 1 week CME for 2 years, and then extend a week, paid CME 1 week – $5,000, and up to $10k in relocation expenses

Geriatric Hospitalist — FQHC

Continued growth at Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region has created opportunities for one Family Practice Physicians or Internist to be based at two local nursing homes to care for the CHCRR patients that are placed in these nursing homes. This will be a fulltime position, with a model of 1 MD and 2 NPs.

CHCRR is the predominate primary care provider and currently provides approximately 80% of the primary care in the service area. CHCRR continues to experience considerable growth and currently employs approximately 45 Providers at 6 modern medical practice sites in Rutland County, Vermont and provides approximately 140,000 visits to almost 40,000 patients annually.

All CHCRR sites are certified Level lll Medical Homes, with a highly developed and supportive panel management and case management system in place. CHCRR also has a robust integrated behavioral health program employing Psychiatrists, Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioners and Licensed Clinical Social Workers embedded within its primary care sites.

CHCRR has a fully integrated electronic medical record and practice management system with robust interfaces with our local hospital. After hours call (triage only) is shared among sites. Call responsibility is minimal at approximately 1 night per month. Adult inpatient care is provided by a hospital sponsored Hospital Medicine program, and pediatric inpatient care is shared on a rotating basis by CHCRR Pediatricians and Family Practice physicians.

CHCRR is the premiere primary care provider in the area and provides a very competitive compensation and benefits package and flexible scheduling options.

Hospitalist Nocturnist and Floater — IM — Hospital Employed

We are looking for an Internal Hospital Medicine Specialist to join our team of fifteen. We are the second largest hospital in the state and licensed for 123 beds. Our hospital medicine program began in 2000. This is an employed opportunity, caring for the inpatients of the peripheral primary care practices who have signed on for coverage. Clinical Nurse Coordinators are assigned to work closely with the hospital medicine specialists to move patients through the hospital system efficiently and arrange discharge planning. 12 shifts in 28 days. 9pm-7am. No ICU responsibility. ICU is covered by three fulltime intensivists.  Floater shifts will be 7a-5p, 11a-9p, and occasional overnight.

Must be board-certified or board-eligible. Eligibility is within five year of completion of training.

Gastroenterology — Hospital Employed

We are looking for a full-time Gastroenterologist for our community. This is a hospital employed position. There are three gastroenterologists in our community. ERCP skills desired.

Approximately 3,000 cases are done by the gastroenterologists annually in our State-of-the-Art Endoscopy Suite that has four procedure rooms. The suite is ASGE recognized. Olympus scopes and processors. Caring and competent staff with over half GI certified. Outpatient practice is located in a separate building across the street from the hospital.

Nurse Practitioner — Urgent Care — FQHC

FQHC Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to treat urgent care patients at a primary care clinic located in Rutland County, Vermont. The urgent care service is embedded in the primary care practice that is located 1 block from the hospital. The schedule will include 10 or 12 hour shifts with weekend rotation; no call. Candidates must be experienced, highly independent and able to treat all age groups. Community Health Centers are Federally Qualified Health Centers and provide a network of Family Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Dentists and Social Workers. CHCRR utilizes an integrated Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management system. Comprehensive Benefits Package Includes:

Ophthalmologist — Hospital Employed

We are looking for a full-time ophthalmologist to join another in a very busy hospital owned practice. The office is located adjacent to the hospital for easy access. There are currently three ophthalmologists in the community.

Ample OR time in blocks. Anesthesia services are provided by Sheridan. The OR has a dedicated ophthalmology suite and staff.

Rutland is at the base of the largest ski area in the East. Rutland Regional is the second largest hospital in the state and licensed for 188 beds. Only hours from NYC, Boston, and Montreal.

Must be BC/BE.

Physiatry Psychologist — Hospital Employed

We are looking for a Psychologist to expand our outpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Spine program services. The ideal candidate will serve as our Behaviorist during Shared Medical Appointments, as well as provide health psychology and pain management services to a primarily adult population. The primary practice focus is chronic musculoskeletal health with some neurologic conditions and opportunities may be explored in other fields including cardiopulmonary, sleep and oncology. Candidates should be skilled in diagnostic testing and assessment of individual and group psychotherapy, treatment plan development and implementation, consultative services and coordination of care. We are looking for a candidate who has completed a Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and has completed an APA approved internship. Patient population practice will see all ages, but primarily adult. This is a Monday-Friday position, with patient hours scheduled in a 40 hour work week. No call. We are the second largest hospital in the state and licensed for 123 beds — daily average census of 100-125.

Psychiatrist — Hospital Employed 

We are looking for an inpatient clinical psychiatrist to join our Psychiatric Services Department here at Rutland Regional Medical Center.  This is a hospital employed position.

23-bed adult inpatient unit including 17-bed general admission and adjacent 6-bed psychiatric ICU.  Although it is a locked unit, 90% are voluntary admissions.  The inpatient team has been recently recognized by the State of Vermont for its exemplary work in leading the effort to reduce the incidence of seclusion and restraint.  The successful candidate will be aligned philosophically with goal of minimizing all forms of coercive treatment through implementation of national best practice models. 

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in addiction medicine who are interested in providing outpatient services at our Medication Assisted Treatment Center.  We also provide outpatient psychiatric services in a clinic across the street from the hospital.  If a physician has an interest in practicing a specialty one day per week, this could be done at the Outpatient facility. 

Weekend call coverage is 1 in 6 weekends and includes coverage from Friday at 5pm to Sunday at 5pm with patient rounding on-site on Saturday and Sunday.  Weeknight and evening coverage is by telephone only one night a week and assigned weekends.  The psychiatry staff relies on a strong Crisis Team doing intake in the Emergency Dept

The hospital is licensed for 188 beds.  Service area 85,000.

Candidate must be board certified or board eligible.   Board eligibility is within five years of completion of training

Psychiatrist — C&A - FQHC - Outpatient only

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region is seeking a Child Psychiatrist to treat patients at our 6 primary care clinics located throughout Rutland County, Vermont. (patient age range is 5 – 18.)
Join a dynamic, collaborative team of Adult & Child Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors who together provide a plan of care for our patients. This position will involve coordinating plan of care with primary care providers to include psychiatric consults, completing diagnostic evaluations and ongoing medical management services. Psychiatrists receive the support of RN Case Managers.
Community Health Centers are Federally Qualified Health Centers and provide a network of Family Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Dentists and Social Workers. CHCRR provides short term and ongoing psychiatric services to any medical patient of the organization. Our behavioral health program is one of the major psychiatric services within Rutland County. CHCRR utilizes an integrated Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management system.

Urologist — Hospital Employed

We are looking for a urologist to practice in our community as a hospital employed physician, employed by Rutland Regional. Robotics not required. Laparoscopic preferred.

Practice will be located in an existing office with a urologist, who has practiced in Rutland since 1986. The office is a short walk across the street from the hospital.

Hospital employment offers a guaranteed salary with incentive bonus program and potential to earn up to the 75th percentile of the MGMA.
