Tired of pain running your life? Chronic pain self management can help give you the tools to take control back! This 6 week long workshop will help you build problem solving and coping skills, allow you to get support from peers, make changes that help you balance rest and activity, and teach skills on how to interact with family and medical providers. Some chronic pain conditions are (but not limited to): musculo-skeletal pain (neck, shoulder, back pain, etc.), fibromyalgia, post-surgical pain that lasts beyond 6 months, neuropathic pain and post stroke pain. This workshop can also benefit people with persistent headache, Crohn’s disease, IBS, diabetic neuropathy, or those who experience severe muscular pain from conditions such as multiple sclerosis. Plan to attend all six weeks of this program to get the most benefit. Learn how to develop action plans for change. Includes the moving easy program that will help you balance rest and activity and learn to manage your chronic pain.
Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshops do not take the place of existing programs or treaments. They are designed to help you follow the medical treatment plan your doctor has prescribed.
