Single Versus Multiple Fractions for Re-irradiation of Painful Bone Metastases

Objective

NCIC CTS SC.20/RTOG 0433 A Phase III International Randomized Trial of Single Versus Multiple Fractions for Re-irradiation of Painful Bone Metastases

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of re-irradiation with a single dose compared to re-irradiation with multiple smaller doses in patients with painful bone metastases that has been previously irradiated.
This research is being done because we do not know which of these two commonly-used treatments is better.
