The Sleep Center Rutland Regional Medical Center's Sleep Center provides painless testing for patients experiencing sleep difficulties. The Center's 16-member comprehensive care team, made up of expert physicians and technologists in a variety of fields, is dedicated to discovering and resolving the causes of sleep disorders. The Sleep Center's state-of-the-art facility includes four comfortable, private patient testing rooms that are specially equipped to allow constant visual and sleep pattern monitoring throughout the night. Patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, can undergo testing for conditions such as sleep apnea and narcolepsy simply by sleeping as they normally do.
One testing room can also be used for daytime sleep studies. It was created especially for patients who work alternate shifts and do most of their sleeping during daylight hours.
After testing, patients may be referred to a specialist such as a pulmonologist, dentist or neurologist for additional treatment.
The Sleep Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center is Vermont's first nationally accredited sleep disorders center. Accreditation is awarded by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
