Biography

Dr. Hughes is a licensed Audiologist who specializes in diagnosing, evaluating and treating hearing disorders, as well as balance and dizziness, both for adults and children. She is trained to present a variety of treatment options to patients with hearing impairment including hearing aid dispensing, and works closely with our ENT providers to ensure that medical/surgical treatment is available.

Dr. Hughes received her Bachelors degree at the University of Vermont, and her Doctoral degree at West Virginia University. She completed her residency at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. She is Board-Certified in Audiology; holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology though the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology; and is a Professional Member of the Hearing Loss Association of America.

Dr. Hughes is dedicated to educating the community about hearing loss, balance, and their treatments. Her goal is to help patients make educated decisions about their healthcare and continue to participate in activities that they enjoy.

Dr. Hughes is originally from Chester, Vermont. She lives in Wallingford with her dog, Lucy. She enjoys taking advantage of all that Vermont has to offer, including alpine skiing, hiking, hunting and fishing.

Teaching or Professional Positions

Dr. Hughes currently serves as adviser to the Vermont Director of the Office of Professional Regulations, on matters relating to Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing.
