Health Resources > H1N1-2009 Information

Rutland Regional Medical Center has made changes to our visitation guidelines in order to protect our patients during flu season. The following changes will be in effect in the Women's & Children’s Unit through March 2010:

• The number of people accompanying the mother-to-be is limited to two persons.
o These persons must remain the same throughout labor, delivery and the stay on the Mother and Baby Unit.
o A child 12 years of age or older will count as one of the two allowed visitors.
• The two visitors must have no signs of illness.
• Visitors must use hand sanitizers before and after visiting

“Patient safety and Infection Control are top priorities at Rutland Regional and these changes are necessary to protect our patients during the flu season. We anticipate this flu season will be different than others and we have made plans that address our concerns. This measure is designed to protect pregnant women and infants. Please keep in mind that our general visiting policy allows only two visitors and restrictions may apply based on the patient’s condition.” Says Rutland Regional Medical Center President Thomas W. Huebner

If you any questions regarding the H1N1 flu please contact our H1N1 Planning Team.
