Health Resources > Support Groups

For people living with challenging health conditions or chronic illnesses, participation in a support group may help ease their burden. Sharing experiences, challenges and solutions in a group setting often creates a common bond and nurtures new friendships. All groups are free and open to the public. For more information, please call the person listed as the group’s organizer.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) –  Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. For more information or for meeting times and places call 802.775.0402 or visit www.aavt.org

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) –  Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. For more information or for meeting times and places call 802.773.5757 or visit www.gmana.org

Al-Anon/Al-Ateen – The Al-Anon/Alateen Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope, in order to solve their common problems. We believe that alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Al-Anon°s primary purpose is to help family and friends of alcoholics, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.
