Statistically, it has been shown that when patients participate in their wellness and get their questions answered, there is quicker recovery with fewer complications, as well as an improved knowledge of how to maintain their health. 

As a patient, it is important for you and your loved ones to be informed and involved in the decisions around your health care. In reviewing the comments we have received from our community, Rutland Regional Medical Center has heard your request for more information regarding your health care and your need to be involved in the various choices. 

Through one of our patient satisfaction initiatives we have identified where we can have a positive impact in keeping patients and families involved and informed throughout the hospital. In response to your comments and hearing your needs, our new “Ask Me!” program has evolved. 

Some of the “ASK ME!” initiatives include:

White Communication Boards in patient areas are personalized for you and display the names of your health care team and the plan of your care.

Information Cards, specific to the area you are visiting, will contain general information (meal times, phone numbers, room numbers, etc.).

Note Pads that have “Ask Me!” titles are located throughout patient care areas. We hope you and your families use these pads to jot down questions while here at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Take them home! Use them to write down your thoughts and information you would like to discuss with your health care providers and family members. We want you to “ASK ME!”

All of these items were designed to open the communication lines between patients, families and your health care team. When it comes to your health, we want you to participate in making the best informed decisions.
