Certified Nurses Day
Mar 18, 2010
Rutland Regional Medical Center is celebrating Certified Nurses Day, Friday, March 19, 2010. Please join Rutland Regional in recognizing the 169 certified nurses on staff and the excellent quality of care they provide to our community. These nurses account for 36% of the entire Nursing staff of Rutland Regional
Board Certification of nurses plays an important role in the assurance of high standards of care for their patients. Nursing has become increasingly complex. While a license to be a registered nurse provides the entry to general nursing, the knowledge needed in nursing now requires continued education and a strong personal commitment from the nurse.
Rutland Regional encourages national board certification for all of our nurses. There are many certification specialties such as surgical, pediatrics, case management, oncology, emergency nursing and critical care. Nursing certification bodies exist to serve the full range of specialized nursing care offered in health care systems. Many of our nurses are accredited by either the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS) and/or the National Organization for Competence Assurance (NOCA).
