Admissions – What to Expect
When you arrive at the hospital, you will begin the admissions
process by meeting with one of our intake nurses. Here, you will be registered
as an inpatient, guided through paperwork such as consent forms and Advance
Directives and asked to provide the
following:
- A List of Medications you take at home, including prescription medications,
over the counter products, and herbal supplements. For each medication, you
will need to know the medication name and dose, how often you take it, how you
administer it, and the time of your last dose.
- Health Insurance Information including your current insurance
identification card and any insurance forms supplied by your employer or
insurance company. You will also be asked to give your insurance company
permission to pay the hospital directly for your care. As a courtesy to you,
the hospital will bill your insurance company directly unless you have not
signed the Release of Information and Assignment of Benefits forms. In this
case, you will be billed directly.
