Breast Screening
An annual mammogram is one of the most important things women over 40 can do to ensure better health. Studies show a screening mammogram can detect changes in the breast, and possible cancerous or pre-cancerous tissues, as early as two years before a woman or Healthcare Provider would feel them.
Rutland Regional’s Diagnostic Imaging Mammography Department is accredited and recognized by the American College of Radiology for the state-of-the-art, digital mammography screenings it provides.
Appointments can be made within 10 business days, and on-site, board-certified radiologists mean that results are often available within 24 hours.
Digital Breast Mammography
Our digital mammography machine produces clear, detailed images that allow Radiologists to see even the subtlest tissue changes or abnormalities. Digital mammography also allows experts from partner hospitals to quickly and easily view images if additional opinions are needed.
Rutland Regional uses a MammoPad® – a specially-made cushion designed to give our high-tech mammograms a soft touch. The pad creates a soft, warm cushion between the breast and the mammography machine, making the experience more comfortable and the patient more relaxed.
