Clinical Trials

At Rutland Regional, we are committed to providing you and your family with innovative medical care close to home. That’s why our researchers and physicians work collaboratively with pharmaceutical companies, large cancer centers throughout the country and organizations such as the National Cancer Institute, to offer our patients access to the newest, most promising clinical trials.

The specialists at the Foley Cancer Center participate in a number of clinical trials designed to advance cancer care and help people who are battling the disease. Our current and former clinical trials focus on a number of important issues, including:

  • Cancer treatment
  • Finding and diagnosing cancer
  • Cancer prevention
  • Managing the side effects of cancer treatment
  • Managing the side effects of cancer

How to Enroll

Many treatments used today are the results of past clinical trials. If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial, you should talk to your doctor to find out if there are any options available to you.

In order to participate in a clinical trial, you must meet certain eligibility criteria and sign documents to indicate that you understand the risks and potential benefits of participating. You have the right to withdraw from the trial or refuse treatments at any time; however, this will make you ineligible to continue the trial.

To find out more about clinical trials, visit the National Institute of Health’s Clinical Trials webpage at www.clinicaltrials.gov.
