If you or a loved one needs an endoscopic procedure, you can rest assured that the experienced team at Rutland Regional will provide the best care using the latest, least invasive techniques. Endoscopic procedures use a flexible tube with a lighted end called an endoscope to allow your gastroenterologist to see clear images of your organs and body parts and treat a range of conditions.
Our skilled staff use state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and treat a range of common and complex digestive conditions, such as diverticulitis, Barrett’s syndrome, gastrointestinal bleeds, and all types of inflammatory bowel disease. We perform a full range of outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including:
- Upper intestinal endoscopy
- Endoscopic retrograde choledochoduodenoscopy (ERCP) and the removal of stones in the bile ducts
- Capsule endoscopy
- Feeding tube insertion (percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy, or PEG)
- Lung biopsies
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
Our Endoscopy Unit is the second largest in Vermont and is recognized by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) for providing quality care. Our staff are committed to ensuring that you have a positive, comfortable experience and are specially trained in endoscopic procedures.
For your convenience and comfort, our outpatient facility is designed so that admissions, procedures and recovery all take place in a self-contained area. We use state-of-the-art equipment to perform common and complex procedures in four fully equipped procedure rooms, with specially designated areas for preparation and recovery.
