A partnership with The University of Vermont Medical Center brings comprehensive, multidisciplinary in- and outpatient care to women with ovarian, uterine, cervical and other forms of gynecologic cancer.
Patients are seen at Rutland Regional Medical Center by our familiar, board-certified OB/GYNs. If an abnormality is suspected, our physicians conduct a thorough examination, order the needed diagnostic tests and then consult The University of Vermont Medical Center gynecologic oncologists to determine the best plan of action.
Women at high risk for gynecologic cancer because of family or personal cancer history can also receive counseling and screening services through Rutland Regional, including Pap test for cervical cancer. Pap tests are also performed as part of routine OB/GYN exams.
When cancer is present and treatment is needed, The University of Vermont Medical Center specialists work in tandem with Foley Cancer Center medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical staff to provide the most effective, comprehensive and coordinated care. The University of Vermont Medical Center gynecologic oncologists conduct a Gynecologic Oncology Clinic that takes place at Rutland Regional’s Foley Cancer Center the second Friday of each month. This partnership allows patients from throughout the region to receive this specialized care and service.
