The Dialysis Unit

Supervised by a board-certified nephrologist, and supported by specially trained nurses and other staff, The University of Vermont Medical Center Dialysis Unit, housed at Rutland Regional Medical Center, treats patients with end stage renal disease that require dialysis.

Dialysis is a replacement therapy for many of the normal duties of the kidneys such as cleansing the body of waste products. Patients typically require dialysis when the waste products in their body become so high that they start to become sick. Dialysis allows people to live productive and useful lives, even though their kidneys no longer work adequately.

Patients at Rutland’s dialysis unit will find a warm, supportive, family-like atmosphere that provides:

  • Nine Dialysis Stations
  • Capacity for a Bed, if Needed
  • Dialysis Services Six Days a Week

The dialysis unit is open 6 days a week, Monday through Saturday, 6am-9pm.
