The Rehabilitation Team
The success of each individual’s treatment program is a result of Rutland Regional’s comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient care. Our rehabilitation team members include:
Orthopaedist. A board-certified physician who specializes in diagnosing, treating and correcting bone and musculoskeletal injuries, illnesses and abnormalities.
Physiatrist. A board-certified physician who specializes in using physical and rehabilitative medicine to help people who've undergone surgery, suffer from a chronic condition, or have suffered a significant injury or illness, regain maximum function.
Neurologist. A board-certified physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating brain and nervous system disorders.
Occupational Therapist. A licensed health professional specially trained to help patients with injuries, illnesses or disabilities improve skills needed for daily living, sometimes through the use of assistive devices.
Physical Therapist. A licensed health professional who uses exercise, massage and other physical techniques to help restore movement and function in patients with chronic conditions or who have experienced an injury, illness or surgery.
Social Worker. A health professional who provides individual, family and group counseling; referrals to community resources; and help with transportation, discharge planning and home care issues.
Speech-Language Pathologist. A licensed health professional who specializes in evaluating and treating patients with speech and swallowing disorders.
