An experienced team, including doctors trained in orthopaedic spine surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and osteopathic medicine manages the Spine Care Program. Knowledgeable physician assistants and nurse navigators provide superior communication, access, and overall patient care. The Spine Care team diagnoses and treats a broad spectrum of conditions affecting the spine.

Michael J. Kenosh, MD

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Michael Kenosh is a physiatrist, a doctor specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has served as the medical director for Rehabilitation Services at Rutland Regional Medical Center since 1997. His exceptional training through the University of Washington Hospitals in Seattle has been enhanced by continuing education and training through numerous professional organizations.

Dr. Kenosh is an experienced electrodiagnostician and has been performing fluoroscopically guided spinal injections since 1996. His ultimate goal is to help patients navigate through a complex landscape of medical information and opinion, provide education and empowerment, and develop a shared plan to assist them in regaining control of their lives.

Matthew G. Zmurko, MD

Orthopaedic Spine Surgery
Dr. Matthew Zmurko is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with specialty training in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He has been affiliated with the Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic since 2007. Dr. Zmurko has received special training in minimally invasive surgical techniques for spinal disorders.

Dr. Zmurko received his medical degree from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and did his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Wayne State University-Detroit Medical Center. Following his orthopaedic residency, Dr. Zmurko did a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Virginia Health System.

Arabella Bull-Stewart, DO

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Arabella Bull-Stewart received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007 and completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the New York University Langone Medical Center. Her specialties include Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and Acupuncture, with a holistic emphasis on recovery from serious injury and surgery.

Orthopaedic Physician Assistant

Mr. Newman received his BS in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas in Galveston. He is board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants. He joins us with more than twenty-five years of experience as a physician assistant, including work at Jeanes Hospital and NovaCare Occupational Clinic, both in Philadelphia. Most recently, Mr. Newman practiced at the Center for Interventional Spine & Pain and Main Line Orthopedics in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. 

Mary Beth Alberico, Spine Care manager, Nurse Navigator

Mary Beth Alberico, RN, BSN, CRRN
VOC Spine Care Program Nurse Navigator
Mary Beth received her RN at Castleton University and her BSN at Norwich University. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse. As the Program’s Nurse Navigator, Mary Beth manages new patient referrals and identifies high risk patients through in-depth data collection. She facilitates spine specialists’ recommendations. Mary Beth also provides patient education, coordination of patient care by facilitating communication among patients, specialists and referring physicians, as well as tracks patients’ progress and outcomes.


Bobbi Hutchins, Nurse Navigator

VOC Spine Care Program Nurse Navigator

Bobbi received her RN at Castleton University and is currently enrolled with the University of Phoenix to complete her BSN. Her experience includes Orthopaedic and Spine Rehabilitation. She has been a Primary Nurse on the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Rutland Regional and worked in Clinical Informatics prior to joining the Spine Care Program. As one of the Spine Care Program’s Nurse Navigators, Bobbi assists in managing new patient referrals and facilitates ongoing spine specialist’s recommendations.  She also coordinates patient care by facilitating communication between patients, referring physicians and specialists.
