Bowse Health Trust Grant Application Process

Grant Application Process

The Bowse Health Trust funds new projects on an annual basis. The LOI and Request for Proposals documents will be available by May 1 each year. The required documents and additional information about submitting a LOI are below.

The BHT is interested in funding new projects that focus on providing residents in the Rutland region an opportunity to live a healthy life. Members of the BHT Committee believe that health starts before medical care is needed; health begins where one lives, learns, works, and plays. Successful letters and projects should address the priority areas identified in the Community Health Needs Assessment and should center any proposed work on health equity. Priority areas include housing, childcare and parenting, supporting the aging community, and mental health. Organizations are required to center diversity, equity, and inclusion in their work.

BHT grant funding has been supporting local non-profit organizations serving Rutland County residents for over 25 years. The intent of the funds is to address identified health priority areas using an innovative approach. Organizations selected to receive grants will be funded over a three-year period. Funded programs will be highly collaborative and have sound plans for financial sustainability after the three years of funding are complete.

Bowse Health Trust is a program of Rutland Regional Medical Center, providing funds to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations supporting community-based, collaborative projects in Rutland County. Letters of Intent are due June 15 and agencies that are invited to write full proposals will submit them by September 15. Grant awards are announced by December 15, and grant funding will start on January 1 of the following calendar year. All grant guidelines and application information are available below.
