Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic Expands Spine Care Program Services in Manchester and Dorset Area
Community members in the Dorset and Manchester area will now have local access to Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic’s Spine Care program. The Spine Care program is part of the physical medicine and rehabilitation services offered in the Dorset Campus of Rutland Regional Medical Center. Additional services at this location include ENT & Audiology and Rutland Women’s Healthcare.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this service locally,” said Melbourne Boynton, MD, Medical Director of Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic at Rutland Regional Medical Center. “Traveling for some of our patients can be uncomfortable, so making our spine care program available locally makes great sense.”
The Spine Care program, which will operate under the direction of Michael J. Kenosh, MD, Medical Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Rutland Regional, focuses on patients who are suffering with acute and chronic spinal conditions as well as pain from the effects of chronic disease. The team assesses each patient situation and creates an individual plan to help them manage their pain and improve their physical condition and health. A range of conditions are treated including musculoskeletal and spinal pain, traumatic brain injury and concussion, spinal cord injury, orthopaedic injury, and other neurological conditions.
“My areas of specialization include musculoskeletal and spinal pain and rehabilitation, spinal injections, electrodiagnostics, and brain injury and post-concussional syndrome,” said Dr. Kenosh. “I work with a deep bench of experts who are committed to improving the lives of our patients.”
The full team includes Arabella Bull-Stewart, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), who specializes in recovery from serious injury as well as surgery with non-narcotic treatments for pain with an emphasis on spine care. She is also a certified acupuncturist and practitioner of osteopathic manipulative therapy.
Andrew B. Newman, PA-C, has been a valuable member of the Spine Care team for the past six years with extensive experience as a physician assistant. He is board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants.
Jill Clemence, PhD, rounds out the team. As a clinical psychologist, she assesses and treats emotional and behavioral issues associated with short-term and/or chronic pain related conditions.
