Rutland Regional Medical Center to Host COVID Vaccination Clinic at Rutland High School

On Monday, May 17 from 11am to 6pm and again on Tuesday, May 18 from 10am to 5pm, the COVID vaccination team from Rutland Regional Medical Center will hold a vaccination clinic at Rutland High School.

The Vermont Department of Health asked us to manage these clinics in order help expedite the vaccination process for the 12+ year-old population,” said Jonathan Reynolds, Vice President of Clinical Services at Rutland Regional Medical Center. “We are committed to do whatever it takes to increase the numbers of vaccinated individuals in Rutland County. We are making it convenient for this age group by going directly to them and we feel this effort will go a long way in getting this particular population protected against contracting COVID-19.”

The Vermont Department of Health has allocated over 300 doses per day at the Rutland High School clinic and these doses are available to the students as well as the general population. People may sign up for this clinic via the VDH website https://www.healthvermont.gov/myvaccine but also walk-ins will be accommodated as well.

We are really happy to have this clinic be as available and as accessible as possible to everyone throughout the greater Rutland area,” said Fran Sun, Vaccine Clinic Supervisor. “We have plenty of open appointments and feel really good about our ability to accommodate everyone over the age of 12 over the course of these two days.”

Rutland Regional Medical Center’s vaccine clinic at the Holiday Inn will continue to be the vaccination site on Tuesday through Sunday for people preferring that location, however the Holiday Inn location is not set up for walk-ins.

Currently the State of Vermont has the highest vaccination rate in the country with 70.3% either fully or partially vaccinated. Rutland County currently lags behind the state with a vaccination rate of 66.4%.
