CMS Awards Elite, 5-Star Rating to Rutland Regional Medical Center
Rutland Regional is one of only four hospitals in Vermont and 429 nationwide to receive a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS). The ratings, which range from 1 (worst) to 5 (best) are created by CMS to reflect overall quality available at a particular hospital. The federal agency ranks more than 3,000 US hospitals using this system.
According to the agency, the overarching goal of the Star Rating is to make information posted on Care Compare, a website designed for consumers, more easily interpreted. "The Overall Star Rating provides consumers with a simple overall rating generated by combining multiple dimensions of quality into a single summary score."
This recognition is a testament to the culture at Rutland Regional and to the outstanding level of teamwork and attention to quality found throughout the organization. It also represents an independent organization's analysis that Rutland Regional provides the highest quality care available. This recognition lets our community know that providing the best care possible to those in need is of the utmost importance to this organization.
