Rutland’s allied professionals and other support staff are well trained in their fields, providing physicians with the support they need to offer excellent care.


  • Choice of HMO or PPO Health Insurance Plans. Eligible the first of the month after 30 days of service.
  • Choice of Comprehensive or Preventive Dental Plan. You may cover yourself, yourself and one dependent, or yourself and two or more dependents.
  • Vision Plan. You may cover yourself, yourself and one dependent, or yourself and two or more dependents. Covers routine eye examination and materials.
  • Short and Long Term Disability. Illness up to 180 days – paid at 100% through paycheck. Illness over 180 days paid at 60% through disability carrier under the Long Term Disability Benefit. Will be offset by benefits from any other income.
  • Life Insurance. Employer provides one times annual base salary. Employee may choose to buy up to a maximum of 6x pay up to one million dollars.
  • 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan. Employees may participate in the 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan which offers a variety of investment options through Fidelity Investments.
  • Retirement Plan. RRHS will contribute to the Plan, on your behalf, a non-elective Employer Contribution equal to a specified percentage of the employee’s gross pay each pay period to a tax-sheltered annuity 403(b) plan for all employees having an assigned FTE. The Contribution percentage is based upon age and completed years of service as follows:

  • Differentials. Shift differentials for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Combined Time Off (CTO). CTO may be used for a variety of types of absences including vacation, personal illness and doctor’s appointments; and/or other personal reasons.

CME Mission Statement

Rutland Regional Medical Center and its physicians recognize that maintaining the medical knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients is a ongoing process. Educational needs can be expected to change in response to emerging technology, scientific discovery, and new standards of practice. Our objective is to maintain a program of continuing medical education that helps support our physicians and healthcare providers in their response to those advances.

Rutland Regional Medical Center is accredited by The University of Vermont which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AMA Category I credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with one hour of participation earning one credit. Every effort is made to ensure that specialty society accreditation is also obtained for appropriate programs, so that physicians attending these courses may earn the credit most useful to them in fulfilling their continuing medical education requirements.

FP or IM MD — Outpatient Only — FQHC

Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region is seeking a Family Physician or Internist to join our practice. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible and residency trained. The schedule is 4-5 days per week with some weekend rounding. Admission to the hospital will be referred to the Hospital Medicine program. Community Health Centers are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and provide a network of Family Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Dentists and Social Workers. CHCRR utilizes an integrated Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management system.

Urologist - Hospital employed

We are looking for a urologist to join another urologist who has practiced in Rutland since 1986. This is a hospital employed position, employed by Rutland Regional Medical (RRMC), located in the south-central part of Vermont. Practice is adjacent to Hospital. Large amounts of male patient sexual dysfunction, BPH, prostate cancer, kidney stones, bladder cancer and general urinary symptoms. Treatment for Peyronie’s disease using Xiaflex. Seeing hypogonadism and testopel implants. Aveed therapy in coordination with DI nursing. Some other treatments offered through our OR would be penile implants, AMS 800 Urinary control system and botox therapy.

RRMC is a 100-bed community hospital with an ER volume of 36k visits per year and ICU with 24-hour intensivist coverage. Service area 85,000. Rutland is at the base of Killington Ski Resort, the largest ski area in the East.

Hospital recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of 42 Best Hospitals for Common Care conditions and procedures. RRMC received an “A” Rating from The Leapfrog Group® for hospital safety and Healthgrades® Patient Safety Excellence Award. RRMC scored in the top 5% of hospitals in the national standardized Press-Ganey Physician Survey for “Teamwork between providers and nurses,” “Expertise of the nursing staff,” “Performance of Administration,” and “Scheduling process for OR services.”

For those trained in robotics, we are prepared to invest in a robot and building a program. Ample OR time in blocks. Anesthesia services are provided by Sheridan Group. Well established EMR with hospital and home digital x-ray viewing capability.

Hospital employment offers very good base salary plus production incentive. 

Hospitalist - Hospital employed

We are looking for an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our team of sixteen.  Rutland Regional Medical Center is the second largest hospital in Vermont with133 licensed beds serving Rutland County and the outlying region.  Our experienced staff has served the community since 2000 and work closely with our numerous specialists, clinical support staff and community partners to deliver expert care to our patients.  Our closed ICU is staffed with full time intensivists to aid with critically ill patients and no ICU responsibility is expected.  We support our ED staff with 2 dedicated Hospitalist admitters in the afternoon to help improve the care and flow of our patients presenting to the hospital.  Our admitters and rounders work 14 shifts in 28 days plus 2 weeks’ vacation.  The hours of the admitter shift are from 11am-9pm.  Rounders work 7am-5pm.

Salaries for 168 shifts, and 182 shifts

Must be board certified or board eligible.  Eligibility is within five year of completion of training.

Gastroenterology — Hospital Employed

We are looking for a full-time Gastroenterologist for our community. This is a hospital employed position. There are three gastroenterologists in our community. ERCP skills desired.

Approximately 3,000 cases are done by the gastroenterologists annually in our State-of-the-Art Endoscopy Suite that has four procedure rooms. The suite is ASGE recognized. Olympus scopes and processors. Caring and competent staff with over half GI certified. Outpatient practice is located in a separate building across the street from the hospital.

Otolaryngologist — Hospital Employed

We are looking for an Otolaryngologist, for to join our well established, hospital owned practice. This is a fulltime position with an annual base salary plus production incentive. Signing bonus. ER call 1:4. Join 2 other surgeons in this practice, with three Physician Assistants. Clinical faculty appointment possible. Teaching opportunity with med students and Advanced Practitioner students if desired. Board Certified or Board Eligibility with intent to become board certified.

There are two office locations. Each location has a fully developed Audiology program.

Community hospital with ER volume of 36,000 patient visits per year. ER physicians are residency trained. ICU with 24-hour intensivist coverage. Hospital based Community Cancer Center with COC certification. Service area 85,000 and new ENT Medical Office Building plans.

This is a fulltime position to join a busy, well established hospital owned practice.

The office is adjacent to affiliated hospital, Rutland Regional Medical Center. RRMC is the second largest hospital in the state and licensed for 188 beds in a service area of 85,000.

This hospital based endocrine clinic includes on-site ultrasound for diagnostics and FNA, Certified Diabetes Educators, Registered Dietician, and full support for insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring technology and downloading of all major blood glucose meters.

Annual base, plus production incentive.
