Support and Resources for You to Quit Smoking & Vaping

Phone Support:

  1. 802 Quits.org 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669)
    • Website and toll-free number to help you quit smoking, vaping and using other tobacco products. Services open to 13 years old and older. Free nicotine replacement quit aids to 18 years old+
  2. 1-800-227-2345 Quit For Life®
    • The American Cancer Society Quit For Life Program operated by Free & Clear® is a telephone-based coaching and Web-based learning support service to help people quit smoking. Call anytime to learn more about Quit For Life.
  3. 1-800-548-8252 Freedom From Smoking®
    • American Lung Association offers Freedom From Smoking. The program teaches the skills and techniques that have been proven to help smokers quit. Freedom From Smoking in available as a group clinic, an online program and a self-help book. You can also speak to a counselor at the Lung Help line.

  1. Smokefree.gov
    • Create a personalized quit plan to help guide you. Sign up for Smoke free TXT to get daily messages of tips, strategies, and support. Text QUIT to 47848
  2. truthinitiative.org
    • Youth and young adults can access the new e-cigarette quit program by texting “DITCHJUUL” to 88709. Parents and other adults looking to help young people quit should Text “QUIT” to 202.899.7550.
  3. Becomeanex.org
    • Quitting tobacco means taking control of your life and making the change you want to make. We're with you all the way. A customized quit plan that learns and grows with you, text messages for support quitting smoking or vaping.

Virtual Groups:

  1. MyHealthyVT.org
    • Our local Vermont Quit Partners offer FREE, virtual computer based, small-group workshops across the state. Your workshop leaders and fellow participants will guide and support you to:
      • Create a plan of action for becoming tobacco free.
      • Stay motivated for the long run.
      • Find ways to manage your stress and cravings.
      • Vermont Quit Partners offer FREE gum, lozenges, and patches.
