As an electrophysiologist, Dr. Dan Ambrus specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the heart’s electrical system. His expertise allows him to supervise complex arrythmia cases as well as provide pacemaker and defibrillator service to the region.
Electrophysiology as a specialty has grown and become more sophisticated over the last decade with more tools available to better monitor and assist individual patients’ unique heart rhythm.
Everyone is born with a natural pacemaker but some of us need a little extra help and that is where an electrophysiologist comes in. I can put in a device to replace what we were born with to help support the heart. With the tools we have today can make a big difference in a short amount of time in somebody’s life, and that is exciting.
Dr. Ambrus moved to Vermont from the Boston area several years ago while he was completing his fellowships at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He and his wife live in Quechee with their sons, and Dr. Ambrus is dedicated to spending any free time he has with his family.
