About Me

Nicholas Bontempo, CAA, (certified anesthesiologist assistant) has joined the anesthesia department at Rutland Regional. Mr. Bontempo grew up with a strong interest in the sciences, specifically biology and chemistry, as well as a desire to help others. He shadowed in many different medical specialties before settling on anesthesiology. Mr. Bontempo enjoys learning and growing his practice of medicine. Anesthesiology as a specialty is constantly evolving so there is always more to learn, which is very appealing to him. 

Every person experiencing a surgery is different. Some want to know as much as possible, others prefer to not hear the details. I listen and modify each conversation to meet the needs of the individual patient.

Mr. Bontempo comes to Rutland Regional after living and working in Washington, D.C. for several years. Originally from Upstate New York, he is pleased to be back in the area with his family. Mr. Bontempo enjoys spending time with his kids, playing the guitar and singing, as well as traveling.
