Biography
Among the many premier medical practitioners at Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic, Dr. Mel Boynton is the VOC’s Medical Director, and a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder surgery, sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Dr. Boynton completed his undergrad work at the University of Vermont, and then moved on to Chicago’s Northwestern University’s Medical School. He interned in General Surgery at Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital, in Providence, and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery there as well.
A prolific author of numerous medical journal articles, Dr. Boynton is also affiliated with several national sports teams. Among them, since 1998, he’s acted as team physician for the U.S. Men’s Alpine Ski Team, as well as the U.S. Snowboard Team. He enjoys a long list of medical professional affiliations and appointments as well as membership in several orthopaedic and general medical organizations.
