Biography
As a physiatrist, Arabella Bull-Stewart, DO specializes in helping people recover from serious injury and surgery. She assists her patients in regaining their strength and function after life altering events such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and orthopedic injury or surgery. She also provides non-narcotic treatment of chronic pain, with an emphasis on spine care.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Bull-Stewart received training in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. After medical school, she became certified in Acupuncture. These “hands on” therapies are used to treat chronic pain, either as solitary treatments or in conjunction with conventional care. She provides her services in the outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation setting, as well as with the Vermont Orthopedic Spine Care Clinic.
During her training, Dr. Bull-Stewart worked at a number of hospitals, including Bellevue Medical Center, New York University Langone Medical Center, Hospital for Joint Diseases, St. Barnabas Hospital, and multiple Veterans Administration hospitals, all in New York City. She published research with the Framingham Heart Study, and is currently participating in research on women’s health with the faculty of the New York University Langone Medical Center.
