Biography

John F. Coco, MD practices ophthalmology at Rutland Regional Medical Center under the name Marble Valley Eye Care. His particular interest and focus is cataract surgery, which he performs at Rutland Regional, and he also offers comprehensive eye care services for people of all ages, including management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. He has been practicing in the Rutland Region for over 20 years.
Dr. Coco’s undergraduate degree is from Dartmouth College and he graduated from UVM College of Medicine in 1984. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and spent a total of 8 years in the Navy. Dr. Coco introduced the technique of phacoemulsification cataract surgery, both at Bremerton Naval Hospital and at Rutland Regional.
