Biography
Thusitha Cotter, MD, FACOG, is a native of Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada. She graduated with a Biochemistry Major from the University of Toronto and received her Doctor of Medicine from Memorial University of Medicine, Newfoundland. Dr. Cotter completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and then worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
She most recently was Associate Program Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine at Peoria. In this role she was responsible for developing and executing an active research program that helped numerous Residents and Medical Students present publications at both National and International Conferences. Dr. Cotter has received several National Excellence in Teaching Awards for her efforts and enjoys watching learners exceed their own expectations.
Dr. Cotter is board-certified and is also a National Certified Menopause Practitioner. Her other clinical interests include pelvic pain and infertility, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, hypertension in pregnancy and ultrasound. She looks forward to providing high quality care to the women of Vermont.
Dr. Cotter and her husband Dr. John Gavin Cotter reside in Mendon with their five children who are active in 4-H and a variety of sports.
