Biography
Thatcher Friant, PA-C has joined the Emergency Department at Rutland Regional. Originally a mechanical engineer, Thatcher spent his spare time volunteering for his local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) squad before making the jump to Physician Assistant school. Medicine is fulfilling in a different way than his previous career and allows him to make a real difference in someone’s life.
“Working in an emergency department means you see patients at a difficult and scary time. I work hard to make sure they are heard, respected and involved in the decision-making process about their care.”
Born and raised in Vermont, Thatcher lives in Londonderry with his wife Marguerite and their dog. In his spare time, he goes mountain biking and cross-country skiing, and is very active with both the local volunteer EMS squad and fire department.
