About Me

Dr. Joseph Giles always knew he wanted to be a physician. He worked in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) while in college, which lead to his interest in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Giles has been a practicing physician since 2018 and has a strong belief in the importance of listening to his patients to best assess their needs. Many people who come into the Emergency Department are afraid and being able to allay their fears is important to him.

I spend the first several minutes I’m with my patient listening to them so I can really understand the issue, as well as asking at the end of the encounter if there’s anything else I can do. Patients need to know they’ve been heard.
— Joseph Giles, MD

Dr. Giles and his wife moved to Vermont from Pennsylvania. They are living in Clarendon with their rescue greyhound and are looking forward to exploring all the wonderful outdoor opportunities available in the Rutland area.
