A former EMS and flight paramedic as well as an experienced flight nurse, Matthew Guy, AGACNP, brings a deep knowledge of critical care medicine to Rutland Regional’s critical care team.
Originally drawn to healthcare after a friend experienced a terrible car accident, Mr. Guy worked for several years in EMS before making the transition to nursing. He served on Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) as both a paramedic and a nurse before moving to critical care medicine in the Intensive Care Unit. After working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock for 17 years Mr. Guy is happy to be transitioning to a community hospital while still staying in critical care medicine.
Having open and honest conversations with the patient and their family helps ease the burden and anxiety felt in critical care situations.
Mr. Guy lives in New Hampshire with his wife, their four kids and four dogs. He loves the outdoors, particularly spending time with his family on their boat during the summer months. He plays guitar and enjoys ice hockey during the winter.
