About Me

Born and raised Vermonter, Mae Hickory, APRN, is a Nurse Practitioner double board certified in Adult-Gerontology and Family Medicine, as well as holding certification as a Surgical First Assist. Mae brings with her years of orthopedic and operating room (OR) experience, assisting primarily with trauma and total joint replacement surgeries.

I have always been drawn to medicine because I love caring for people. It is deeply satisfying to be able to help someone in a difficult situation get back on their feet and start living their life again.
— Mae Hickory, APRN

As an athlete herself, a former cross-country ski racer, Mae became interested in orthopedics as it helps patients return to an active lifestyle. Working in orthopedics allows her one-on-one time to build connections with her patients and their history, as well as assisting the orthopedic surgeons in the OR.

Mae loves to be practicing medicine in her home state. She is very close to her family, with two young kids at home, whom she loves to take out skiing, biking, and hiking.
