Matthew Howland, ATC

About Me

Matt joined Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic in July of 2011. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Castleton State College in Castleton, VT.

Matt has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Shrewsbury High School in Shrewsbury, MA, Brattleboro Union High School in Brattleboro, VT, and Springfield High School in Springfield, VT, where he designed and implemented the high school’s first Athletic Training department. While at Springfield and Brattleboro, Matt also served as the strength and conditioning coach working with athletes from a variety of sports.

Throughout his career, Matt has been very active with high school football throughout Vermont. He served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the South team of the North–South All Star Senior Bowl, as well as an Athletic Trainer for the Vermont All-Star Football camps. He has also worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Vermont team at the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.

Matt currently serves as a Co-Head Athletic Trainer with Tyler White, ATC, at Rutland High School and is a Physician Extender at VOC.
