Emily Magruder has been a licensed Speech Language Pathologist since 2021 with a certification in Dementia Care. Emily earned her master’s degree at Ithaca College. While studying, Emily discovered her passion for cognitive therapy, aphasia treatment and language acquisition. This has guided her into the realms of geriatric care, early intervention and acute care.
Before joining the team at Rutland Regional, Emily worked at a skilled nursing facility where she treated residents with dementia, Parkinson's, the effects of stroke, and much more. During clinicals, Emily had the pleasure of working with preschool children in a head start classroom which has prepared her for treating early intervention patients. Emily believes that her clinical expertise is just as valuable as the contributions made by her patient’s and their caregivers; with this collaboration, she can best help you meet your goals.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys many artistic and athletic pursuits including drawing, painting, photography, viola and weight lifting. She loves being a part of the community in Vermont for its diversity, congenial residents and natural beauty. Emily is excited to meet you and help you achieve your goals.
