About Me

Jeremy Remus, MD, is an internal medicine physician and works in the Hospital Medicine department at Rutland Regional. With a background in family practice, internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Remus has a deep breadth of knowledge and many years of experience in patient care. A Christian Orthodox, Dr. Remus balances his faith and science in his medical practice.

Dr. Remus grew up in the mountains of Romania, where he developed an interest in medicine after watching his older sister complete her medical degree. He attended medical school at Carol Davila University in Bucharest before emigrating to the United States in 2000. He has worked all over the country, including Maine, Georgia, Arizona, Mississippi, Louisiana and, most recently, Florida. In his experience, he has found Vermonters to be kind, open and welcoming. Vermont reminds Dr. Remus of his childhood home, and he loves living with four seasons, as well as the varied outdoor activities available here.

Dr. Remus enjoys sports and being outside. He has a deep desire to always be learning, and in 2016, Dr. Remus earned his law degree. He is also an avid chess player and is looking forward to finding a new community of chess lovers in Vermont. Dr. Remus is married, and he and his wife have a beloved husky.

I believe being a doctor is about helping people heal. People want a doctor they feel comfortable with, someone who cares, who listens and who respects them as a person, not just a patient.
