Biography
We are pleased to welcome Thomas T. Schmidt, MD to Rutland Regional Neurology Center, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
Dr. Schmidt received a BS in Life Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, MS Ed from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, and medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio. He completed his residency in neurology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2016. Prior to coming to Rutland Regional, he had been with UP Health System in Marquette, Michigan.
“I was a teacher for 10 years before pursuing medicine, and many of the skills are very similar to my role as a physician. Neurology is particularly engaging because it requires listening, observing, and interacting with a patient as well as educating the patient and family.”
Dr. Schmidt enjoys hiking, cuisine, skeet shooting, sports, and travel. He resides in Chittenden with his wife; his two daughters attend college in the Burlington area.
