RUTLAND, VT – Rutland Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Rutland Regional Medical Center and Community Physician and Advanced Practice Provider of the Year Awards.
The purpose of these annual awards is to recognize physicians and advanced practice providers whose contributions to our community, patients, and staff represent the highest standards in health care. The awards were created in memory of Dr. Emelie Munson Perkins, a multi-talented individual who served the Rutland community as a physician, employee, and volunteer. To be nominated for an award, individuals must meet the following criteria:
This year’s awardees were selected from more than 25 nominees representing a diverse group of exceptional individuals who demonstrate and reflect the quality of our medical staff. It is truly an honor for these providers to be recognized by their peers and colleagues. Each of these distinguished honorees exemplifies the hospital’s core values and commitment to patient-centered care.
Dr. Philip Lapp, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Rutland Regional Medical Center, emphasized the significance of recognizing these dedicated healthcare professionals for their outstanding contributions to patient care, staff support, and the broader community.
Facundo Stingo, MD, PulmonologyRRMC Physician of the Year
Dr. Stingo was nominated for his clinical excellence, collaboration, and system-level thinking, qualities that have made him an invaluable clinician to the organization and the broader community. His colleagues highlighted his compassion, hands-on involvement, and unwavering commitment to delivering the highest standard of care. One nomination noted that Dr. Stingo has “played a transformative role in strengthening the structure, safety, and workflow of our critical care unit. He led several policy initiatives that have directly improved patient outcomes, streamlined team communication, and enhanced the safety culture within the ICU.”
Dr. Stingo joined Rutland Regional Medical Center in 2023 and currently serves as Section Chief of Critical Care and Member-at-Large for the Department of Medicine. He also serves on the Committee for Professional Enhancement and the Critical Care Committee. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency as well as a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center at Georgetown University. Dr. Stingo is triple board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine.
Sarah Bache, APRN, Women’s HealthcareRRMC Advanced Practice Provider of the Year
Sarah Bache was nominated for her exceptional commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the residents in the Rutland community. According to one of her nominations, Sarah is “widely recognized for her clinical expertise and is one of the most sought-after preceptors on the medical staff, consistently serving as a trusted mentor and educator to colleagues and learners alike.”
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University, and her Women's Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Regis College. Sarah is board certified by the National Certification Corporation.
Beyond her professional role at RRMC, Sarah is deeply engaged in the community. Another nomination noted, Sarah is well known as an active and dedicated sports parent, supporting Slate Valley Wrestling and Fair Haven Union High School Football. Whether on the sidelines at a football game or next to the mat at a wrestling match, Sarah’s commitment to community involvement mirrors the dedication she brings to her clinical practice.
Sarah was praised for her empathy, integrity, and compassion, qualities that define her approach to patient care and make her a valued member of the RRMC team.
Julie Foster, MD, Family Medicine, Community HealthCommunity Physician of the Year
Dr. Foster was nominated for her exceptional dedication to her patients, as well as her thoughtful, respectful, and compassionate approach to care. Her colleagues and patients alike consistently note her ability to listen deeply and apply her extensive clinical knowledge in meaningful ways.
In her nominations, Dr. Foster’s peers stated, “Julie is smart, thoughtful, kind, and a fantastic listener. I feel not only fortunate to work with her, but she is my PCP, and I could not be happier with my care. Her level of clinical knowledge combined with her impactful manner is outstanding. She is both thoughtful and respectful in an environment that is not usually easy to manage.”
Dr. Foster joined Rutland Regional Medical Center in 2005 as an Affiliate Medical Staff member and Family Medicine Physician with Community Health Castleton. She earned her Medical Degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Waukesha Family Medicine in Wisconsin. Dr. Foster is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Sally Beayon, APRN, Family Medicine, Community HealthRutland Region Primary Care Advanced Practice Provider of the Year
Sally Beayon, APRN, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Vermont and her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Purdue University. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in Family Medicine.
Sally was nominated for her collaborative spirit, compassion, and strong leadership skills, which have made her a trusted provider and colleague. She is widely regarded in her clinic and community, known for her dedication, clinical acumen, and the strong relationships she builds with patients.
As one nomination shared, “Sally is a staple in our clinic and community! She is smart, dedicated to her job, and patients love her. Sally’s consistent commitment to excellence in primary care makes her a truly deserving recipient of this recognition.”
