FREE Community Class at RRMC
“How Nar-CAN and Nar-CAN’T be used in an Emergency”

RUTLAND, VT – On Tuesday, July 21 from 3:30-4:15pm, Rutland Regional Medical Center is offering a free community class, “How Nar-Can and Nar-Can’t be used in an Emergency” in the hospital’s CVPS/Leahy Community Health Education Center.

Narcan, or naloxone, is a readily available medicine that can help people who are overdosing on an opioid. Naloxone can save lives, but there are times when other treatment is necessary. Learn how and when naloxone can and can't be used in an emergency as well as ways to communicate with patients/family after an overdose.

This community class is FREE and open to all and is sponsored by RRMC’s Nursing Shared Governance Council. Wendi Fitz-Gerald, RN, Emergency Department and Faith Stone, RN, West Ridge Center will be facilitating the class.

There will be a limited number of take-home kits available to participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees may park in the gated lot located near the CVPS/Leahy Community Health Education Center. Event parking signs will be posted.
