Celebrating Life – National Cancer Survivors Day

This is the first in-person Survivors Day event we've hosted since 2019 and we are thrilled to be celebrating with our community!

Sunday, June 2, 2024 is National Cancer Survivors Day^® and here at the Foley Cancer Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center, we are celebrating this day of recognition on Saturday, June 1. This will be the first in-person Survivors Day event we’ve hosted since 2019, before COVID. The entire Foley Cancer Center team is excited to be celebrating with our community once again.

This year marks the 37th annual celebration where cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, family members, and friends gather together to celebrate and call attention to cancer and the challenges that face survivors. More than 18 million cancer survivors in the U.S. use this time to connect, celebrate health milestones, and thank and recognize the people in their lives who have helped and supported them during their cancer journey.

We are inspired by the resiliency, strength, and hope our cancer patients and survivors demonstrate every day and they remind us why we choose to do this important work. We continue to advocate for our patients in terms of more resources, research, and legislation to help improve the quality of life for all those working through a cancer diagnosis.

Focusing on one’s quality of life while taking the time to celebrate together, laugh, share a meal, and tell stories is vitally important. We look forward to this time together with survivors and their families and supporters and we wish all cancer survivors a day filled with love, joy, encouragement, and laughter.
