Access to accurate and up-to-date information is critical for delivering high quality, affordable, patient centered healthcare. In medicine, our teams rely on many sources including our electronic health record and health information exchanges that connect our system to others, to ensure we have the full picture of a patient’s care. Without this access, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health professionals would struggle to provide the safest and most effective treatment.

Just as providers need information, it is equally vital for patients to have it too. Research has shown that when patients are engaged in managing their own health, outcomes improve and costs go down, especially for chronic illnesses. Having access to accurate, timely information is the first step. That is where the patient portal comes in.

The RRMC Portal can be accessed on any computer or mobile device through the HealtheLife app. It is simple to download and user friendly. You can find they app by searching for “HealtheLife” on both Apple and Android devices. It is also always accessible through our website, RRMC.org. A link to the RRMC Portal can be found in the top right corner of the page.

We are constantly working to make the portal even more useful and have continuously added and updated ways for patients to navigate through the portal. These added features meant that most diagnostic results, including imaging reports, are now available in one secure place. Improvements over the past two years have allowed patients to view upcoming appointments, request a reschedule or cancellation of a current appointment or make new appointments.

Later this year, provider messaging will be updated to make communication with their patients quicker and easier. Patients will also be able to request medication refills directly through the portal, making it a one stop tool for managing your care.

In short, your patient portal puts your health information right at your fingertips, giving you the same access to information as your healthcare team. Access to timely, accurate information helps everyone make better decisions for your health.
