Lung & Respiratory Care

Our board-certified pulmonologists and respiratory therapists are here to help you breathe easier.

If you have lung disease, symptoms like shortness of breath, trouble breathing, and coughing can make everyday activities difficult. You may be unable to exercise or even have trouble walking.

Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Pulmonary Center offers both outpatient and inpatient care for respiratory disease such as asthma and COPD. We use state-of-the-art tests to diagnose your lung condition and provide treatment and respiratory therapy customized to meet your needs.

Lung Disease Symptoms

If you have a lingering cough or the feeling that you’re not getting enough air, you might be experiencing symptoms of lung disease. Warning signs include:

  • Frequent coughing or wheezing (a whistling or rattling sound in your chest)
  • Shortness of breath that doesn’t go away after exercise (or that happens when you’re not exercising)
  • Trouble taking deep breaths
  • Coughing up blood
  • Unexplained chest pain

If you have symptoms like these, ask your doctor about a referral to Rutland Regional Pulmonary Center and contact us at 802.775.2036.

Anatomy of the Lungs

Your lungs are a pair of organs that are part of your respiratory system. They bring oxygen into your body. And they rid your body of carbon dioxide, a waste product your cells create. Let's take a minute to learn about these organs.
