According to the U.S. National Institute of Health and the National Cancer Institute, if lung cancer is diagnosed at Stage 1, the 5-year survival rate increases to 55% from just 17%. We like those odds!

The Rutland Pulmonary Center, in conjunction with Foley Cancer Center, is welcoming you to take part in our early Lung Cancer Screening Program. The test involves a low dose CT scan at our accredited Lung Cancer Screening Center.

Know the Score so you can Change the Game.

Your answers to a series of questions will determine your score and that score will determine your next step. Our health navigators and specialist will work with you and your personal physician to determine the next steps.

If you meet all four requirements below, and you are willing to undergo possible treatment for lung cancer (including surgery), then you are eligible for this program, which involves no cost to you.

  1. I am between 55 and 77 years of age
  2. I have no symptoms of lung cancer
  3. I am a current smoker or have quit in the last 15 years
  4. I have at least a 30 pack/year* smoking history

*30 pack years=1/2 pack/day for 60 years –OR– 1 pack /day for 30 years –OR– 2 packs/day for 15 years –OR– 3 packs/day for 10 years

Call your doctor to discuss the benefits of a lung cancer screening and to sign up for the early detection Lung Cancer Screening Program. A referral is needed from your primary care physician to participate in this program.
