Treatment for Enlarged Prostate
The UroLift® procedure is minimally invasive and is typically performed as a same-day outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. It involves placing small implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissues out of the way and increase the opening of the urethra.
The UroLift system is safe and effective and used to treat enlarged prostates between 30 and 80 grams. This procedure does not involve the cutting of tissue, has less bleeding associated with it, and provides rapid symptom relief. This procedure does not cause new or lasting sexual dysfunction. Typically, a catheter is not necessary post treatment. Patients report noticeable improvement within weeks of the procedure.
Marble Valley Urology is recognized as a Center of Excellence by UroLift and is the only urology service in Vermont to receive this designation. Dr. Ernest Bove is a board-certified urologist who has been practicing in Rutland for over 40 years and has received Center of Excellence recognition by consistently meeting the high standards and successful patient outcomes required for this designation.
If you are suffering from an enlarged prostate, consult with your primary care provider about the options for relief. You may also self-refer by calling Marble Valley Urology directly at 802.775.6006 and the expert team will schedule you for an appointment to see a specialist.
