Culture of Care Campaign
Our caring and compassionate physicians, nurses, psychiatric technicians and staff are committed to providing the very best inpatient psychiatric care in a setting that is safe, secure and fosters healing.
As part of this commitment, Rutland Regional Medical Center will upgrade its Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit to ensure the most welcoming, respectful and therapeutic environment for patient care. Our goal is to raise $550,000 to support necessary improvements and specialized furniture to enhance the safety and security of our patients in a recovery-oriented environment. The Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit has not been upgraded since its inception in the early 1980s. The renovations will enable:
- An increased bed capacity with single-bed rooms increasing from 6 to 18, allowing more flexibility to accept patients and creating a calmer and quieter environment.
- Improved patient monitoring and lines of sight from the nurses station to enhance the safety and security of patients.
- A more open and welcoming environment for patients and their families.
Many of our patients have unique needs and require long hospital stays. These renovations will better accommodate their individual needs and help reduce stress for family and loved ones. The renovated unit will function more effectively with calming features to promote comfort, healing and wellness.
“We are fortunate to have a nationally recognized mental health program in our community, serving us with compassion and professionalism 24 hours a day. This campaign will help transform Rutland Regional’s PSIU into a space that is both safe and welcoming and meets the highest national standards. Our community will benefit from this investment regardless of whether we are ever directly affected by a mental health crisis.”
